Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Dr. Mike Belding moved to Calgary in 2010. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2010 as a Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine. In addition to his chiropractic degree, he also completed a Clinical Acupuncture program, which allows him to provide acupuncture treatment in addition to his chiropractic services.

Dr. Emily graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, but her journey at Encompass Sports Therapy began during her undergraduate years while she completed her Bachelors of Kinesiology as a receptionist. Under Dr. Mike and Dr. Kate’s guide, she is now returning back as a chiropractor.
During her schooling, Dr. Emily’s program prepared her in Diversified Technique for full spinal adjusting, as well as extremities and other joints in the body. She has also been educated in Active Release Techniques, instrument assisted soft tissue therapy (IASTT), Thompson Technique, and is Webster Certified.

Emily graduated from Queen’s University with a Masters in Physical Therapy. Since then, Emily has continued to pursue further training in orthopaedic manual therapy, myofascial release, acupuncture, taping and pelvic floor courses. She has also participated in a sports therapy placement in Brisbane, Australia to further study sports related manual therapy techniques. Her experience with a diverse clientele, including athletes, weekend-warriors, and overuse injuries has helped her develop her an approach to be pain-free and functional as soon as possible. Dr. Baxter Hickey attended the University of Calgary where he was enrolled in the Bachelor of Kinesiology program. After his undergraduate studies, he attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto, ON, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree.
He began his chiropractic journey as a patient in 2011, when he was competing as a high-level Latin ballroom dancer. Naturally, learning and understanding how the body works and functions had become an interest for Dr. Hickey. Since that time, his passion for health and wellness has flourished, which led to him becoming a chiropractor.
In addition to his course load at CMCC, Dr. Hickey has also completed additional educational seminars and training in Activator, Thompson, muscle release therapy, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, and orthotic casting. Colin graduated from the University of Calgary’s Kinesiology Faculty with a Bachelors Degree in Science (Honours) in Exercise Physiology where he also earned his Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology Certified Personal Training certification. After graduation Colin became a Registered Kinesiologist with the Alberta Kinesiology Association and the Canadian Kinesiology Alliance.
Colin has worked extensively with the Sport Injury Prevention Research Centre as a Student researcher on injury prevention and performance projects in Hockey and Basketball. He is an author on publications in the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine and Journal of Sports Sciences, as well as had his work presented to International Olympic Committee.
