Melissa Arlantico, aka Mel, graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and later obtained her Master of Science (Physiotherapy) at McMaster University.
Born and raised in Vaughan, Ontario, she grew up as a dancer and completed all her Royal Academy of Ballet examinations. Having always been fascinated by how the human anatomy could create such a beautiful and delicate art, yet be so robust to adapt to various activities, or recover from injury or dysfunction - Melissa pursued physiotherapy. Driven by these interests she has taken courses on neurofunctional acupuncture, dry needling and plans to continue to pursue advanced manual therapy courses with the Orthopedic Division. Melissa also holds an Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) position with McMaster University’s Physiotherapy Program.
Melissa’s practice is centered around freedom and collaboration. She believes that every individual should be empowered with the knowledge and skills to engage in activities of their choosing and make informed health decisions. She is committed to working with her clients, which means open communication, meaningful goal setting, opportunity to ask questions, and space to share ideas. Her treatment approach encompasses education, exercise and manual therapy techniques and acupuncture, tailored to addressing client-specific concerns and goals.
Outside the clinic Melissa has always enjoyed being active. Whether it be hiking, CrossFit, weight training, spin classes, or a run. As a new Calgarian, she’s open to her client’s suggestions for new activities, places to explore, or even new restaurants to check out. She also enjoys a good board game night, cooking and binge-watching TV shows - so all suggestions are welcome!
